WIIMCAST ANIME SHOP
(powered by RightStuf)

Anime is a natural companion to video games, and even though neither the Dreamcast nor the Wii are capable of playing DVD Videos, we still highly promote anime as a form of entertainment.

Highly.

Manga, as well, since it is the predecessor of anime, and the starting ground of many anime series anyway.  It's also a great deal of fun to see the differences between the manga and the anime of any particular series.

With the recent implosion of Geneon, speculation is running high among anime fans nationwide as to the future of anime here in the US.  With all the internet piracy and the sheer number of anime releases becoming available, it's getting harder for the North American anime distributors to make a decent profit.

So we decided to get an affiliate account over at RightStuf and try to help sell some anime!  Let's keep the anime coming and the industry going!

RightStuf handles the sales and distribution of it, but we get some commission for linking to them.  So if you like Wiimcast and you like anime, but you don't really have extra money to donate to us, this is a great way to do it because it doesn't cost you anything extra than what you would have paid at Rightstuf anyway!  And you can get free domestic shipping with any order over $49!

So without further ado, we here at Wiimcast are providing links to some of our favorite anime.

Adventures of the Mini-Goddess
Fruits Basket Ranma 1/2
Ah! My Goddess
Giant Robo Samurai Champloo
Azumanga Daioh
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure The Slayers
Blue Seed
Jubei-Chan Vandread
Cowboy Bebop Martian Successor Nadesico The Vision of Escaflowne
You may notice there's no Gainax anime on there (Evangelion, FLCL, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, etc).

Well, they're overrated.  Gainax knows how to design characters, but they don't know how to develop them.  Similarly, the writers over at Gainax couldn't come up with a satisfying plot with an equally satisfying ending to save their lives.  So anime with shallow, static characters with shallow, predictable plots and cop-out endings generally don't make our list of favorites, unless it is makes us laugh our bums off.

That's just the way it is.
